Group and School Visits

Group Visits

The National Archives also developed an outreach programme for other sectors that are interested in the cultural aspect of the National Archives. The tours are designed to promote awareness amongst the different strata of society, thus promoting the value and use of archives as a national information and educational resource.
Group visits can be arranged for groups of not more than 25 persons. An appointment form can be obtained from this site.

School Visits

One important aspect of the educational programmes organised by the National Archives is the hosting of school visits from a number of state, private and church schools. The visits are held in both the National Archives Head Office in Rabat and the Legal Documentation Section in Mdina.
The aim of these visits is to raise awareness among students, and help them appreciate archives by educating them and also giving them hands on experience. This is a positive approach were the students get to enjoy the opportunity of handling original documents and sample some of the challenges involved in the cataloguing and reorganisation of archival holdings.
