LYCEUM REGISTERS DEPOSITED AT THE NATIONAL ARCHIVES
The Lyceum Headmaster Tony Caruana Smith, accompanied by George Stagno Navarra the President of The Association of Lyceum Past Students, handed over to Charles J. Farrugia, the National Archivist a collection of old Lyceum registers for preservation. These old records date back to the mid/late 1800's, with many famous names of scholars that are shown therein and who have at some time attended the LICEO/Malta. The event took place at the National Archives Head Office in Rabat.
It has been felt to be an honour and a duty for the LYCEUM, to hand over such valuable registers that may from today onwards be kept available to the general pubic who might wish to do any research about a person/s who have attended one of the oldest schools named THE LICEO.
The delegation joining the Lyceum Headmaster and the A.L.P.S. President, also included A. Borg and T. Aquilina. They have both worked so hard towards making this initiative materialise and were instrumental for giving wider access to the old records of the LICEO through the National Archives at Rabat. Present also for the ceremony was Max Farrugia, President of the Friends of the National Archives.
